Alchemy of the Quotidian

What Pipes Dream of , November 2008, J Bowring
I drew a line,
I drew a line for you,
Oh what a thing to do,
And it was all yellow.
(From 'Yellow', Coldplay, 2000)

Dreams of any kind (pipe or otherwise) are always good. I say necessary, even. Besides who's to say whether
your dream is the 'pipe' kind. Or the other.

Or whether, in fact, pipes dream at all...

they do dream...

suspended in time and place
shackled medieval style
to a soviet concrete wall
stammering shrill to none all winter
dripping nasally through bleak summers
this pipe dreams ahead to its time as a Cobra
dreams of striking
feeling venom surge
then sunning, stone drowsy
against warm adobe.
